E-invoicing in Oman, ready before your deadline

Fawtara makes every VAT invoice a structured e-invoice, sent through an accredited provider and reported to the Tax Authority. Whether you write ten invoices a month or run SAP across five companies, register now and we'll get you connected.

What Fawtara changes for your business

🧾

PDF and paper stop counting

After your go-live date, a printed or emailed PDF is no longer a valid tax invoice. The tax invoice is a structured XML file.

🔗

Sent through an accredited provider

Invoices travel on the Peppol network through an OTA-accredited service provider, which reports each one to the Tax Authority.

🏪

B2B and B2C from day one

Invoices to other businesses and simplified invoices to consumers are both covered. Government invoicing is expected later.

🗄️

Ten years, electronically

E-invoices have to be kept electronically for 10 years. Penalties under the VAT regulations run from OMR 500 to 5,000 per breach.

How it works

One app between you and the Peppol network

Oman uses Peppol's five-corner model. You can't send to the Tax Authority directly; we handle the connection, the format and the rules, so you just issue invoices.

  1. 1

    You

Make the invoice in Invoicer, in your ERP, or upload a file

  2. 2

    Tech Serenity + accredited provider

Checked against the Fawtara rules, converted to PINT OM and sent

  3. 3

    Buyer's provider

Receives it on the Peppol network

  4. 4

    Your customer

Gets the e-invoice in their own system

  5. 5

    Oman Tax Authority

Receives the tax data for every invoice

FAQ

Questions companies ask us

Do I need to sign up with a service provider myself?+

No. We connect to an OTA-accredited service provider for you; you deal with one company and one app. If you already have a provider, tell us in the form and we will advise.

When do I have to start?+

Under OTA Decision 189/2026: 1 April 2027 if your annual supplies are above OMR 5 million, and 1 October 2027 for every other VAT-registered business. Voluntary early adoption is allowed, and our pilot is the way to do it without the deadline pressure. The OTA can change dates, so we will confirm yours when we contact you.

Will my current PDF invoices still be valid?+

Until your go-live date, yes. After it, a PDF or paper invoice is no longer a valid tax invoice on its own: the e-invoice is. You can still send your customer a PDF copy for convenience.

We use SAP / Oracle / Odoo / Tally. Can it connect?+

Yes, by API or by file. ERPNext and BaytCart POS are connected directly at launch; other connectors follow in the order customers need them. Tell us your system and version in the form. That's how we decide which connectors come first.

We're an accountant or ERP partner with many clients. Can we use it?+

Yes. Register as a partner and tell us roughly how many businesses and invoices you handle. Partners manage each client as a separate organisation with its own VAT number.

Can invoices be in Arabic?+

Yes. The e-invoice itself is a structured file, and the copy you print or send to customers can be in Arabic, English or both, as in Invoicer today.

What will it cost?+

Pricing will be published before onboarding opens and will scale with your invoice volume. Registering is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

What about Saudi Arabia and the UAE?+

Saudi ZATCA (FATOORA) and the UAE's Peppol programme are on our roadmap on the same engine. Mention it in the form if you invoice there too.

Don't leave it to September 2027

Data clean-up and ERP testing take longer than anyone plans. Register now and you'll be among the first we onboard.
